Internet Dating - Taking the Plunge and Meeting for Real

OK, so your internet dating has been a great success.
You have met the person of your dreams and are spending a lot of time talking online.
Now is the time that you think you may want to take your internet dating experience a little further and meet the dreamy person for real.
Exciting does not cover it.
You are likely experiencing a whole gamut of thoughts and emotions.
It is the same feeling when you are about to ski down a hill or jump out of a plane with a parachute.
There is a part of you that wants to opt for the safe option - stay at the top of the hill, stay in the plane and do not go out to meet your internet date.
Yet there is another part of you that says just go for it.
The problem is that the part of you that wants to be safe can often win out, providing a whole range of excuses of why you should not do it.
This part of us seems to win out more often the older we get.
I am not advocating here that we all take up a dangerous sport and cast all sense away but sometimes in life you just have to take a chance.
Internet dating is a prime example of this as often the reason people end up internet dating in the first place is as a result of not being able to take a chance in asking others out on a date.
Our life experiences of rejection can serve to really hold us back if we let them.
Of course the main benefit of internet dating is the ability to conduct all the awkward stuff like initial contact in a safe and distant manner - a kind of sensible screening process that serves to root out those that are simply not suitable.
The experience of internet dating is in itself a screening process - all those putting their profiles on an internet dating website are effectively seeking the same goal.
You need to keep telling yourself that the person on the other side is just like you.
They have laid their cards on the table for all to see and are saying they are available.
So, you know that your dream person wants what you want.
They have been through whatever screening process the website provides.
You have been cyber dating with them for a while and have only positive thoughts.
It is now time to meet for real and I can only say that provided you take the usual security steps as you would do for any type of dating experience, you should go for it.
Grasp it with both hands and enjoy it and let your dream partner know that you are enjoying it.
I sincerely wish that they will feel the same.
Happy dating.
