- 1). Look for good-quality leather, general-purpose gardening gloves with a cloth back; this will keep your hands cool and comfortable.
- 2). Select rubber gloves with cotton lining if you garden in wet or muddy places.
- 3). Choose neoprene gloves for spraying pesticides. Most chemicals will penetrate latex or plastic.
- 4). Choose gloves with long wrist protectors for pruning roses.
- 5). Use fingerless gloves in cold weather for doing detailed work such as transplanting seedlings.
- 6). Make sure the gloves you choose actually fit your hands!
