Today's Inspiring Thought: Sweet Desperation

These words are part of Hannah's song of praise to God after dedicating Samuel, her promised child, back to God. When the Lord answers our desperate prayers in the most spectacular, miraculous, and personal way, as he had done for Hannah, we get a clear sense of his holiness, his greatness, and his sovereignty in our affairs.

At the same time, we acquire a real sense of our frail humanity, our smallness, and our complete dependence on the Lord.

As Hannah's life revealed, sometimes our desperation leads to the sweetest gifts from God.
