How to Boot From a Recovery Disc in Vista

    • 1). Insert your Windows Vista DVD or first CD into your computer's optical drive bay.

    • 2). Restart your computer.

    • 3). Press any key when prompted to boot directly to the disc.

    • 4). Select your language from the language settings screen, then click "Next."

    • 5). Select "Repair your computer" from the list of options.

    • 6). Select your Windows Vista installation from the list of installed operating systems, then click "Next."

    • 7). Click "Startup Repair" from the list of tools, then click "Next." The System Recovery Options utility will repair your system's boot record to allow booting into the operating system.

    • 8). Restart your computer to boot into Windows Vista.
