There are a variety of motorcycle racing events in Southern California to thrill spectators and participants alike. With its year-round mild weather, Southern California is an ideal location to hold outdoor motorcycle races. Many of the events cater to fans by including musical entertainment, car shows, tributes, and of course food and refreshments. - The Inland Motorsport Speedway, located at the National Orange Show Events Center, holds racing events starting in June and ending in October. The racing facility was recently revamped and celebrated its grand re-opening in June 2009 with the John LaDouceur Championship, named in honor of the original builder of the track in 1975. Some past events included the Harley night scratch and handicap, the Western States Championship, and races honoring the memory of American speedway racers Ernie Roccio, Ken Berry, and Randy Evans who lost their lives during competitions. Besides racing, some events include a live performance by a musical band, stunt performers, and celebrities from the motorcycle racing world. For all races, the doors open at 6:30 p.m., and races begin at 8 p.m. And all ages are welcome.
