Bedroom Closet Design Ideas

    Shelving

    • Keep your closet organized by installing many shelves and cubby holes. Leave enough space for all your hanging clothing, but consider separating the hanging space with a vertical row of drawers or shelves. This separates different sections of your wardrobe. Use small cubby holes and drawers for shoes.

    Hooks

    • If you have a large collection of hats, belts, ties or scarves, installing hooks in your closet can be very useful. To leave wall space free for shelves or drawers, install the hooks on the back of the closet door or even around the closet door frame.

    Extra Rods

    • In part of your closet, install a second closet rod under the first closet rod, about halfway to the floor. Store your shirts on the original rod and store pants and skirts on the bottom rod. Don't let the bottom rod run the entire length of the original rod; you still need some room to hang full-length items. If you have a particularly tall closet, place a third rod above the original rod, close to the ceiling. This rod can be used for clothing that is out of season or infrequently worn.
