Asthma in adults can at times be slightly different from that in children and infants.
Adults who are suffering from asthma can learn to put this condition in control to prevent it from getting any worse.
The symptoms that are usually seen in adults are such as coughing, heavy breathing, tightness of chest, shortness of breath and wheezing.
Asthma in adult could either be severe or mild.
There are characteristics that determine whether one has mild asthma or a severe one.
Patients with a mild kind of an asthma, usually are able to live a normal life.
They only face asthmatic attacks on rare occasions and not frequently and these attacks are usually mild.
These attacks usually occur when this type of patient is exposed to condition that trigger the attack.
These conditions may be such as bad weather, cold, viral infections, air pollution,fungi, molds, among others.
So, a patient suffering from mild asthma should avoid any conditions that would trigger an attack.
Asthma in adults could also be severe.
This should be treated with much specialty so that it does not become chronic.
When the asthma condition is mild, precaution should be taken to control it.
Patients with chronic asthma are always under medication and this helps them to be able to control it form getting worse.
There are also breathing machines that are available for severe asthma patients.
Therapy is given to asthma in adults to ease the physical and mental tension that a patient could be undergoing.
