- 1). Click the Windows-logo "Start" button (in the lower-left-hand corner of the screen) and select "All Programs." Click "Microsoft .NET Framework," then click "Visual Studio" to open your development software.
- 2). Click the "View" menu item, and select "Solution Explorer." In the new window that opens, right-click "Data Connections," then click "Add Connection." A wizard window opens.
- 3). Click "MySQL Database" from the list of options and then click "Continue." Type the user name and password used to connect to th database. Type the database name in the "Database Name" text box. Click "Test Connection" to verify that the information entered is correct. Click "OK" to confirm your settings and create the MySQL connection.
