How to Use a Mirro Pressure Cooker

Things You'll Need

Instructions

1

Remove the lid from the pressure cooker. Insert the trivet. The trivet should be at the bottom of the cooker to prevent the food from touching the bottom.
2

Pour about one cup of water into the cooker, which will afford 15 minutes of cooking time. Add one-half cup of water for every additional 10 minutes it will take to cook the food. Place the food on the trivet inside the pressure cooker.
3

Attach the lid to the pressure cooker. Use the arrows on the lid to determine where the lid should be placed. Grab each of the handles. Pull them up and together. Push down on the handles to seal the lid to the rest of the cooker.
4

Attach the pressure regulator to the valve on top of the cooker. Place the cooker on the stove, and turn the burner between medium and medium high heat. The pot will begin jiggling once the desired pressure is reached. Steam will then be released from the top valve. Adjust the stove temperature so that the cooker begins to rock in a steady rhythm. Wait for the food to stop cooking.
5

Remove the pressure cooker from the stove. Wait about 15 minutes for the cooker to cool. Set the cooker in the sink, and run cold water over it to ensure all of the pressure has left the equipment. Lift the lid off the cooker, and remove the food.
