In Chicago's glamorous Gold Coast neighborhood, Bloomingdale's offers visitors and locals an upscale shopping experience filled with the latest fashions and homewares. The nearby hotels reflect the Gold Coast's posh atmosphere by providing high-end, luxury hotel rooms. Because of this, visitors should expect to pay more when staying in this part of downtown Chicago. - The Drake Hotel dates back to 1920 and contains more than 500 guest rooms within its 10 stories. Hilton Worldwide operates the hotel today and has filled all rooms with the most modern amenities to complement the historical decor. These include high-speed Internet access, flat-screen televisions, MP3 docking stations as well as daily newspapers. The on-site fitness center covers 3,000 square feet and has free weights and cardiovascular machines. The hotel contains multiple restaurants, cafes and bars to satisfy all dining needs; some have live entertainment. As of August 2010, special online rooms rates began at $179 per night.
