How to Use Block Wall Toppers

    • 1). Lay the first wall and third topping blocks in place on the top of the wall. Leave enough space for the second wall topping block.

    • 2). Lay the second wall topping block across the space between the first and third block so that their edges overlap as if building a bridge.

    • 3). Adjust the topping blocks so that the front edges are even and any curve to the wall is followed by the edges of the first and third blocks. Make marks on the first and third blocks where they will have to be cut to allow the middle block (the second block) to sit between them. If the wall is straight, proceed to lay the topping blocks end to end along the entire length of the wall, making sure to keep the edges even.

    • 4). Cut the first and third blocks if necessary using a circular saw and a diamond masonry blade. Lay the blocks back on the top of the wall so the first three fit together and the edges are even.

    • 5). Continue down the wall measuring and cutting blocks as necessary, making sure to keep each middle block (in sets of three) uncut. For example, of blocks one, two and three, one and three will be cut to fit; of blocks three, four and five, three and five will be cut.

    • 6). Check that the edges of all the blocks are even and that the end blocks are also evenly spaced if they protrude over the sides of the end of the wall.

    • 7). Glue each block down by carefully lifting the block from its place, applying masonry adhesive to the top of the wall block below using a caulking gun, and press the block back into place. Do not apply adhesive to the sides of the wall topping block. Do this for the entire run of wall topping blocks and allow the adhesive to dry according to the instructions on the adhesive packaging.
