Did you ever stop to ask yourself why a handful of companies are big hitters that become household names in the network marketing industry, while there are others that hit the scene for a moment and then fizzle away into obscurity? Most of these companies are never heard from again.
When companies like Melaleuca and MonaVie arrived on the scene they quickly took off and in a pervasive manner they saturated the industry of network marketing.
Others, whose names I cannot even remember, barely made a splash in the world and then they were gone.
How and why does this happen? Is there some sort of network marketing secret that the big hitters figured out and failed to share with the others, that ultimately catapulted them to the top? Did they have a unique or phenomenal product that people could not live without? Or was it that the compensation plan was so compelling that it attracted the masses to enroll and grab a piece of the action? Could it possibly have been that it was the quality of the management team that broke all records and shattered the competition? I believe that if we surveyed a large variety of network marketing companies we would find that there have been many companies with compelling and unique products that actually made very little impact in the industry.
While compensation plans can be attractive, there are a few models in the network marketing industry that are used by the many companies with minimal variations among them.
None particularly stand out in the crowd as show stoppers that would catapult a company towards national notoriety.
As far as management teams go, there have been companies with superlative leadership that produced lackluster results in the industry.
As far as I understand the dynamics of the industry, none of these factors seem to be the distinguishing factor responsible for the fame or notoriety of the giants in the network marketing industry.
When it comes down to the nitty-gritty of evaluating the phenomenon of a shining star in the world of network marketing we must consider the concept of momentum.
This can be defined as a hyper-growth curve that creates geometric results in the company.
It magnifies and intensifies the efforts of every marketing associate in the company.
In other words if a person puts forth a small amount of effort in a company with huge momentum, their work will produce massive results.
This is where huge fortunes are made in a network marketing company.
It is said that a company must realize significant momentum within the first year or two of its existence if it is going to thrive.
This factor alone will make or break the reputation and future of a new company in the industry.
It was my goal to introduce the concept momentum as it relates to the growth and development of a marketing company.
