How to Take LCDs Off of Blackberry Bold 9000s

    • 1). Place a fingernail in the small gap at the very bottom of the Bold's battery cover. Lift up to remove the cover. Pull out the battery, and slide the SIM card, which was under the battery, to the right to remove it. Tilt the Bold onto its left side, the side with the headset jack, and lift the flap of plastic that is covering the SD card. Push in on the card to release it, then pull it out of the Bold.

    • 2). Remove the six T5 screws around the outside of the back of the device. Once the screws are out, lift up on the back housing to remove it from the rest of the Bold.

    • 3). Place your pry tool underneath the control board, along either side and about an inch away from the bottom. Lift the control board up and slide it toward the bottom of the device, then lift it up to remove it from the front housing.

    • 4). Locate the small ribbon connector in the top-right corner of the control board. Place your pry stick under the connect, and pull up to disconnect it. Flip the Bold over, so you can see the LCD.

    • 5). Insert your pry tool between the LCD and control board. Move the tool around to separate the tape holding the two components together. Once the LCD is loose, pull up to remove it from the Bold.
