The excitement of meeting the right one from a dating site is a wonderful head rush of emotions. Sometimes dating online can feel like you're looking for a needle in a haystack, and when you actually make a connection and a relationship is formed, it's an incredible feeling of satisfaction and delight.
It can be difficult to keep those early feelings alive after the two of you have been together for awhile. Passion often simmers and eventually dies out, but that doesn't mean the relationship is over. Relationships have many phases, and after the initial "honeymoon" period of being intoxicated by your new love, the two of you might move into a phase where you become more comfortable and relaxed with one another.
This doesn't mean that you should let things slide and start becoming complacent. That is sure death of a relationship when couples do that. So to keep the fire alive, you always want to remember what attracted you to each other in the first place. Life and hectic schedules often can cause a riff between two people. If you're a couple, but not yet living with one another, it can often be challenging to find time to spend together, unless you make the effort. And let's face it folks—if you want your relationship to work, you must make an effort. These things don't fly by themselves—they need a push.
Have an open and honest conversation with your partner and find ways to keep the relationship alive, exciting and special. It's natural to want to talk with your partner about every little thing that's going on in your life; particularly if you're stressed out with your job or a friend. When you air your grievances constantly, it creates a negative mood and brings everybody down. Try to find other ways to relieve your stress by exercising or talking things out with a friend. You don't have to eliminate discussing negative things with your partner, but you may want to keep it to a minimum.
Finding time for spontaneous weekend getaways can also do wonders to boost a complacent relationship. Surprise your lover with hotel reservations or tickets to a concert with his favorite band. And never underestimate the power of a compliment. You probably complimented him a lot when you first met, so find all the little things you love about him and let him know it. The best way to keep love alive is to listen to your partner and be aware of his or her needs. Finding different ways to make them feel special with certainly do wonders to creative longevity in your relationship.
