- 1). Clear the part of the room where the bed will be positioned. Inspect the rails to identify the left and right ones. Position the rails on the floor so the box-spring support portion of the rails are facing each other, parallel and a few feet apart. Unfold the hinged rail so the center bed supports are perpendicular to the edge rails.
- 2). Locate the steel "buttons" and corresponding "keyholes" on the center bed supports. Insert the button from one center rail into the corresponding keyhole in the opposite center rail. Pull the rails apart to securely join the two parts of the center support rail. Join both center rails. If the central rails have multiple keyholes for supporting different sized beds, measure the width of the assembled central rails to make sure they are 60 inches wide. Move the buttons and reattach, if necessary.
- 3). Attach the headboard to the rails by first positioning the headboard at the head of the bed and aligning the pre-drilled holes on the end plates of the rails to those in the legs of the headboard. Thread the thumb screw through the holes so the wing-nut is against the inside of the rail end plate. Tighten the wing nuts and repeat to attach the other leg of the headboard to the opposite rail. Footboards are attached in the same manner.
- 4). Place the box spring on the support rails in the assembled bed frame. Add a bed skirt, if desired, then place the mattress on the box spring.
