- 1). Download and install iTunes. There's a link in "Resources" below.
- 2). Open iTunes and click on "Edit," then select "Preferences."
- 3). Select the "Devices" tab, and check or uncheck "Prevent iPods and iPhones from syncing automatically." This allows iTunes to download your entire library to your iPhone at once; if you just want to add one or two MP3s then uncheck this option. Then press "OK."
- 4). Plug your iPhone into your computer's USB port and wait for iTunes to recognize and display current files on the device. Click on your iPhone's name on the left-hand side of the window.
- 5). Click "File" and then "New Playlist" to make a new music list. Alternatively, you can click on a current music list.
- 6). Select "File" again and select "Add File to Library." In the Add to Library window, find the MP3 you want to add to your iPhone and then select "Open." iTunes will then transfer the new MP3 to your iPhone.
