Scone site abounds in bird-life from buzzards to finches, many are very tame.
Rabbits and squirrels also visit the site.

By tradition, Scottish monarchs were crowned in the Abbey. - Five miles further down the road is the city of Perth.
It has good shops and tourist facilities like the Black Watch Museum, several whisky distilleries, lovely gardens at Branklyn and Cherrybank, and a splendid swimming pool. - Go east on the A90 to Dundee, Scotland's fourth largest city.
Visit the Old Steeple, the RRS Discovery, the Verdant Works Jute Mill and the Sweet Factory. - North along the A9, pass the Macbeth Experience before reaching Dunkeld.
Here you'll find 20 houses restored by the National Trust of Scotland, the ruins of a 9th-century cathedral and The Hermitage, an 18th-century folly.
Then on to Pitlochry, a major tourist resort.
Watch the salmon leap the fish ladder at the side of the dam. - North along the A93, past the Meikleour Beech hedge, is Blairgowrie Visitor Centre and Scotland's largest water wheel.
- West is Crieff, home to the Drummond Castle Gardens and Glenturret, the oldest distillery in Scotland.
- Go south down the A9 to observe ospreys at the RSPB sanctuary at Kinross.
- There are five golf courses within five miles of the site.
Day licences for fly fishing are available to catch trout in the Tay.
Walkers will find woodland trails at Kinnoull and Quarrymill.
