If you've successfully completed your undergraduate education with a Bachelor's degree and want to further your learning and skills, your next step may be to pursue a Master's degree. Master's degree programs are available for almost every undergraduate-level major and provide deeper study and longer term projects. If you prefer to learn from home, many brick-and-mortar colleges and universities offer online degree programs. You can get all of the quality of the on-campus experience from the convenience of your home computer. - Northeastern University may be located in Boston, but its online Master of Public Administration degree program is available to anyone with a computer. Students who attend full-time may complete the program in two years, taking courses such as organizational theory and management, quantitative techniques, public personnel administration, economic analysis and institutions, techniques of policy analysis, and budgeting and financial management. Students who do not have six-months' full-time work experience at a non-profit or in a government setting prior to enrolling must also complete an internship.
Northeastern is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration. Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree in any subject (social sciences are preferred) with a minimum grade point average of 3.0, plus three letters of recommendation, a personal statement, and a resume. Graduate record exam scores are not required but may help students receive scholarships.
