Northeastern University

• Northeastern University may be located in Boston, but its online Master of Public Administration degree program is available to anyone with a computer. Students who attend full-time may complete the program in two years, taking courses such as organizational theory and management, quantitative techniques, public personnel administration, economic analysis and institutions, techniques of policy analysis, and budgeting and financial management. Students who do not have six-months' full-time work experience at a non-profit or in a government setting prior to enrolling must also complete an internship.
  
  Northeastern is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration. Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree in any subject (social sciences are preferred) with a minimum grade point average of 3.0, plus three letters of recommendation, a personal statement, and a resume. Graduate record exam scores are not required but may help students receive scholarships.

Penn State World Campus

• Earn an online Master of Applied Statistics degree from Pennsylvania State University's Penn State World Campus. Classes include introduction to probability theory, regression methods, introduction to mathematical statistics, statistical consulting, applied statistics, analysis of discrete data, applied time series analysis, and epidemiology research methods. Students may begin taking courses while their applications are in process. Applicants must submit an undergraduate transcript record (any major, with a minimum grade point average of 3.0), statement of purpose, three letters of recommendation, and graduate record exam scores. All students must have a computer with 500 MB free space, DSL Internet connection, CD-ROM, sound card, speakers, and Java.
  
  Master's graduates receive a diploma stating their study at Pennsylvania State University; there is no indication of online study. The program is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools.

Gonzaga University

• Religious-minded students who are seeking an online Master's in communication and leadership studies may be interested in Gonzaga University's online program. Coursework includes social dynamics of communication technology, communicational ethics, organizational communication, international and intercultural communication, applied research, and theorizing communication. In their final semester, students take a capstone project/thesis.
  
  Gonzaga is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Schools and a member of the Jesuit Education Network. Religious affiliation is not required for admission.
