Are We Truly Transformed?

Sometimes, I wonder if we can ever forget our past lives or completely leave them and lead a new perfect life that God wants us to. As today's Christians, we claim that we are leading transformed lives but are we really transformed? Do we know what it really meant to be transformed?

Today, it is often heard from the mouths of some Christians that they have no intention of going to church as they are busy with their daily works or feel the church boring, dull and lifeless. We have been making excuses of not attending the church services and neglecting the word of God. But what we really are doing is not neglecting the church, but we are neglecting the word of God. So are the regular church goers who claim to be more religious.

With the changes that engulf our world, more people than ever will be coming to faith from places that knew nothing about God. But than, what will they feel about the church if we who have been Christians since long ago are no better than them?

When we transform and accept the call of Christ to follow him, we need to change each and every bit of our life. The Oxford Dictionary defines transformation as 'to completely change the appearance or character of something especially so it is better'. When a person becomes a follower of Christ, every aspect of his existence will be touched and affected. Christ wants us to be completely changed and live a better life that is better and perfect inside and outside.

A transformed person will see transformation in every part of his life. We should be visibly changed in every way. The ones that come out of us should be clean as how Christ has taught us. There should be change in the way we speak, act, work etc. A changed Christian does not have to try hard to act like one. You can't do anything by yourself unless it's from the father.

Post modern world churches today are involved in many ways that have made its purpose unfulfilled. Laymen to ministers, today have drifted away too far from the word of God. The root cause of the church being dull, lifeless and uninteresting for the young ones in faith is because we have not built the foundation strong enough. Foundation lies in transformation.

A truly transformed church is lively and flourishes well. How will we let the church bloom when we all have withered away from the path we have chosen? The church today is more than a place of fashion show event. It has transformed into a place worst than a political platform.

Not only the individuals, but even the church at a whole has been blinded by worldly pleasures that we have forgotten our first and foremost duty. Our eyes have been sealed that we can no longer see our weaknesses, while on the contrary we have got eyes that can see more than what it ought to see. We only see the weaknesses of our fellow brethren and try to judge on them. We do exactly the opposite of what we speak and preach.

The church in order to fulfill its purpose, have to lead an exemplary life that others may see and follow what we have been following. It is time to see ourselves and lead transformed lives as we are the salt and what use will we be if we lost our salinity?
