Understanding the Holy Spirit

Do you understand what the Holy Spirit is? Do you know the Holy Spirits gifts to us?

The Holy Spirits has seven gifts for us which are wisdom, understanding, counsel and mentor, courage, knowledge, and reverence and fear of the Lord. We must accept these gifts and consider that there is no such thing as seven gifts of the Spirit in the Scriptures.

The Holy Spirits give us wisdom. He made us with the ability to love spiritual things more than material ones. He made us wiser in making decisions and actions. He made us wiser in choosing our God, our Father.

It gives us the ability to understand things why we need to follow God that we may not get confuse by His words about the righteous living. This gifts of understanding the Holy Spirit makes people perfect from apprehension in different kind of situations and has definite reasons at all times.

The Holy Spirit is our counsel and mentor.  It helps us understand all things.  This gift brings us more wisdom in making our judgments for things. This gift brings us talents to do right things and stay away from wrong doing. A person lives in righteous and good judgments avoid us from making sinful action and live out by virtues of God.

Courage. These gifts from the Holy Spirit teach us overcome or fear and worries and desire about to continue following God. A courageous person has a strong position to do what is right according to God sights. Courage made us firm in our decision despite of different evil influences around us.

The Holy Spirit gives us the gift of knowledge about God. This gift is powerful in getting and understanding facts. It made us intelligent in words and in actions.

It has a gift of reverence where in we will bring us more respectful of what God's want us according to His will and to the Church we belong. The gifts of reverence recognize humility, trust, and love for our God and his men. We can show our reverence to God by paying back with glory, praise and honor to Him name.

It makes us having fear of the Lords. This gift makes us more aware that we may know that God sees us in all our doings. God knows what we are doing and there are many things that are unpleasant to Him. We know His punishment that is why we have fear of the Lord.

Once we become convinced through understanding of the truths of the Faith, we can also draw conclusions from those truths and arrive at a further understanding of man's relation to God and his role in the world. Understanding rises above natural reason, which is concerned only with the things we can sense in the world around us. Thus, understanding is both speculative—concerned with intellectual knowledge—and practical, because it can help us to order the actions of our lives toward our final end, which is God. Through understanding, we see the world and our life within it in the larger context of the eternal law and the relation of our souls to God.

It is vital that we stay connected with the Holy Spirit if we plan to live for God.  The Holy Spirit is a "person" (yet fully God) who desires to have a relationship with us.  Too often people miss out on this wonderful relationship because of fear.  The result is that they feel distant and disconnected with God.
