Depression - 15 Common Symptoms

Millions of Americans suffer from depression.
The thing is, depression will manifest itself in a person's life at least once.
It is important to know the symptoms of depression to avoid worry and anxiousness, and establish professional or alternative treatment at once.
The first symptom is one's feeling of tiredness more than usual.
Even when doing nothing, a depressive will still feel like he or she has run a thousand miles, which will lead to the second symptom: sleep deprivation or insomnia.
Being tired will keep a person restless and awake.
The third reason is worry.
Worrying about the future, the bills, the cat, the dog...
Thinking of all these problems will lead to the fourth symptom: weepiness.
Somehow, the smallest of things can make the person cry and weep in pure sadness, which is related to the fifth symptom, despair.
One is never happy, and always groveling in misery.
Yet again, this leads to the sixth symptom which is isolation.
The depressed will have a loss of affection towards others as well.
The seventh symptom is that when a depressive person talks, all that ever comes out from his or her mouth is about his or her sense of failure and self-loathing.
The eighth symptom should confirm it, when the person loses interest in life in general.
There is great inactivity and negativity that rolls off in waves from this person, which leads to the ninth symptom, which is the loss of a sex drive.
Having no contact with other people and having a negative perspective in life will result to the tenth symptom which is a complete loss of self esteem and confidence.
They will take no responsibility whatsoever because they do not believe that they can do it anymore.
Another symptom is either a loss or a gain of appetite, and he or she does not even seem to care.
The apathy about the things he or she usually cares about is the twelfth symptom.
Another symptom to take note of is that when a depressive sleeps, he or she usually does not seem to bother waking up anymore.
He or she can sleep the whole day and this is not just that they want to catch some sleep, but they are using this as their means of escape from reality.
If ever they do not indulge on sleeping in, one more symptom is that they will wake up earlier than usual.
If they usually get up by 8am, they get up as early as 2 or 4am! Finally, the last symptom is worthy enough to worry about, because a depressed person believes in all actuality that the world is against them.
They are paranoid and have recurrent thoughts of death, self mutilation or worse, suicide.
Spot these symptoms as early as possible! Remember, people can and do make recoveries from depression and go on to lead their best lives imaginable.
