Signs and symptoms of a Yeast Infection can vary on the severity, and site of the infection.
However they do pose some similarities.
While it doesn't always itch, chances are you will suffer from an intense itching or burning sensation, this itch can get so bad you can hardly walk.
For vaginal yeast infections you may suffer from a discharge, that may look like clumpy white stuff similar to ricotta cheese, however if a discharge is present, it can range in texture and colour.
It can range to yellow in colour to slightly clear, and can be thick or clumpy.
It may also smell, and be painful to urinate.
One good way to tell if the cause of your painful urination, is due to a yeast infection or a urinary tract infection, is to pay attention to when the burning starts and stops.
If you have a Yeast Infection, the burning starts when the urine hits the irritated skin of the vulva, so the burning starts on the outside.
Where as with a urinary tract infection the burning is felt as urine passes down the tube, on it's way out.
However you should be aware that a infection can occur anywhere on the body, and both men and women are affected.
The signs and symptoms of an infection on the skin, are a red flat rash, with scalloped edges.
This rash may cause itching or pain.
Signs of an infection in the mouth are thick white lacy patches on top of a red base.
These can occur on the tongue, palette, or else where in the mouth.
It may look like you can wipe away this white tip, but it does not move so easily.
It may also become painful.
These are the basic signs and symptoms of an infection, but you should always consult a doctor to confirm, you do not have another underlying problem.
