How to Fill a John Deere 111H With Oil

    • 1). Park the John Deere 111H on a level surface. If the surface is not level it can make the oil level appear higher than it might really be.

    • 2). Lift open the hood on the John Deere 111H.

    • 3). Remove the engine oil dipstick.

    • 4). Check the oil level on the dipstick. The oil level should between the high mark "H" and the low mark "L." If the engine oil is below the "L" mark, you must add oil to the engine.

    • 5). Remove the oil filler cap. Twist the cap off with your hands and pull it out. The oil filler cap can be identified by a picture of an "oil can" painted on the cap.

    • 6). Pour the 10W-30 engine oil into the engine via the opening the engine oil filler cap was covering.

    • 7). Reinsert the dipstick and check the engine oil level again. If the engine is still low on oil, add more and recheck with the dipstick.

    • 8). Secure the engine cap and close the hood. Turn on the engine and run at a slow speed for two minutes to allow the oil to reach the engine.
