?Days Flashback: Philip and Chloe"s First Kiss
Days of Our Lives' teen scene was aflutter with romance in 2000, and one of the show's most popular young couples was Philip and Chloe. After initially taking Chloe to the Last Blast Dance, because he'd lost a bet with his buddy, Shawn, Philip suddenly found himself smitten with her.
A few weeks later, on September 12, 2000, Philip and Chloe shared a sweet, romantic night on the front porch of the Wesley house, that ultimately led to their first kiss.
Philip arrived bearing popcorn and soda, and he and Chloe talked about their complicated family lives. Philip confided a secret that none of the other kids at school knew about: his parents still weren’t married.
Chloe revealed that she'd never felt close to her adoptive family and always wanted to find a place where she'd fit in. Now, living with Craig and Nancy in Salem, she finally felt like she did, and Philip had a lot to do with it.
The twosome shared a sip of soda and talked some more. Philip admitted he'd never been able to open up to anyone, like he did with Chloe. Then, he announced that there was something else he wanted to share with her.
A nervous Chloe spilled her soda and apologized for being such a klutz. Philip gently put his hand on her cheek. “No. You're perfect,” he whispered, pulling Chloe into a kiss. Chloe responded, but then suddenly pulled away and told Philip she needed a second to sort things out.
"I'm okay now," said Chloe, moments later. "I can articulate how I feel.
Do you want to hear?"
"Yeah, yeah, of course," responded an anxious Philip.
"Well, I will remember this night and everything about it and you for the rest of my life," noted Chloe.
It was the beginning of one of Days' most memorable romances, and actors Nadia Bjorlin (Chloe) and Jay Kenneth Johnson (Philip) weighed in on what made the coupling click.
"There's something about Chloe that Philip likes... He’s intrigued by her mysteriousness," said Johnson.
"They kind of connect," added Bjorlin, noting that "Chloe's impressed by all the nice little things Philip’s been doing... She's totally started melting for him."
