Such as the gas lines, water lines and even cable tv lines.
You want to double check with your swimming pool contractor and make sure he has properly marked all of these and contact your utility companies to come out and shut these lines off.
If this isn't taken care of before the build, running into a gas line or a water line could jeopardize the whole project.
Your pool professional will make sure the lines are moved to a proper location when the job is finished so that your utility companies can turn them back on.
Going without cable tv for three weeks could be a bummer but you will have a beautiful, new pool to enjoy.
When you first start any swimming pool project, you will need to contact your local township and enquire about the zoning permits.
These permits allow you to build large scale structures such as inground swimming pools in your backyard.
Each township is different when it comes to what they need before you get approved and your local pool company will most likely be very familiar with most of the townships in the area.
But in general, most townships will need copies of the land survey with a highlighted section as to where the pool will be going, an application fee, and a filled out permit application.
Once these things are submitted, it could take anywhere from a couple of days to a week or two to get approved.
Once you are approved, you can move forward with the building process.
Another very important aspect of preparation is deciding what you want to go with your new pool.
Do you want custom tile? Custom plaster? A natural stone deck? What type of pump and filter system? What type of heater?Do you want safety covers and and automatic cover? Do you want a spa? If so, do you want it attached or separate? Are you interested in swim jets or special lighting? These are all major things to consider when preparing to build your new pool.
The swimming pool contractor needs to know 100% what you want so that he can properly plan and schedule out the project from start to finish.
If you suddenly want a spa halfway through the project, it will most likely not happen just because the material and time will not be available.
