- 1). Use a tension spring rod that will fit inside the window frame. Adjust the rod per the instructions in the tension rod package. Most rods twist clockwise to become longer and counterclockwise to become shorter. Put the rod in place to make sure the tension is tight and the rubber ends fit snugly inside the window.
- 2). Purchase curtain panels that will fit inside your particular window frame. Steam the curtains with a steam iron to get all the wrinkles out.
- 3). Take the rod down, and feed the rod through the top of the curtains. Put the rod and curtains in the window, and adjust the curtains to be gathered evenly on the rod.
- 4). Use curtain circle clips for a different way to hang the curtains from the rod. Purchase these round clips in packages of 10 to 12 at retail home stores and curtain departments. Slide the circle on the rod and clip the circle to the top of the curtain panels.
