Window Blind Cord Safety

    Cordless Blinds

    • Install blinds that do not have a cord. A variety of cordless blinds, including horizontal and vertical styles, are now widely available.

    Retrofit Blinds

    • The WCSC offers free kits to make older blinds safe. Order kits on-line at http://www.windowcoverings.org, or call 1-800-506-4636.

    Furniture Placement

    • Position cribs, beds and furniture that may be easily climbed on away from blinds.

    Keep Cords Out of Reach

    • To keep cords away from children, cut cords short and attach looped cords firmly to the ground.

    Lock Cords

    • Lock cords in place when they are lowered.
