I love a good barbecue and there is nothing like indulging in the smoky flavors of barbecue that you've prepared yourself.
Food that you put your time and energy into always taste better and barbecue is no exception.
As grilling season rapidly approaches many of you are probably looking into replacing your old outdoor BBQ grill and may even be researching built in BBQ Islands for your backyard.
Whether you are a barbecue guru or not a few grilling tips can never hurt and will add to your arsenal of tricks for creating barbecue that hits the spot with your friends and guests.
BBQ Islands are one of my favorite outdoor accessories not only because of the new modern designs currently available but also because they make outdoor cooking so much more convenient that traditional grills.
I love to command the kitchen and with an outdoor BBQ Island everything I need is right at my fingertips.
Plus, I throw the best dinner parties in my neighborhood, whipping up drinks at my island's bar counter and putting together tasty appetizers on my island's side burner while the main dishes are grilling away.
And, I admit, I invested in one of those cool Palapa umbrella features which really gives my BBQ Island and backyard the appearance of a tropical getaway.
I also love BBQ Islands because they make diversifying your outdoor menu easy.
There are storage, preparation, and cleaning options with islands that other outdoor grills don't have.
I like to try and keep my menu on the healthier side and my island has made it a breeze--I can chop and dice on the counter top after washing my veges in the built in stainless steel sink, and on top of that the fire from the grill melts away a lot of the fat on my meat.
And when the fire gets a little hot, I can pull out a nice cold bottle of water from the built in mini-refrigerator.
