Mastiffs have very powerful jaws which any owner of one of these large breed dogs can tell you.
I am sure though if you are like me you might have discovered that they do like to chew on anything that they can get their mouths around.
I know for me it was my rocking chair that I got as a Christmas present, which I am still in the process of repairing.
However, I did find a couple of ways that would help keep him occupied instead of having him try to digest my chair.
While you might trying to figure out what I am talking about on how I managed to discover a couple of ways well the first one is one that I used while potty training him.
That is by utilizing a crate to ensure that he doesn't have anything near him that he can chew up.
While you might be thinking that putting them in a crate is a bad thing it is actually what my veterinarian recommended to me to use.
For the crate though I only use this when I go to the store, church, or someplace like that.
You might think that with him being in a crate he could easily get bored which can be true which is why I give him a Kong bone.
Now this is also my second method of keeping him from chewing up items when I am home with him.
The Kong bone manages to keep him occupied for hours on end and he actually doesn't destroy it within minutes of starting on it.
