Good nutrition is known to be a factor that helps slow down, or prevent hair loss and thinning in many cases.
It is also important to have good nutrition and a diet full of vitamins and minerals if you want a healthy head of hair as well.
While some vitamins seem to be more helpful when it comes to preventing hair loss or other hair problems, most of these can be gained through eating sufficient vegetables and fruits, and by avoiding foods known to be low in nutrition such as take-away meals or frozen dinners, for example.
If you are forced to eat this type of food often, supplementing this with additional fresh fruit and salad vegetables should give you all the vitamins needed.
There are some situations, however, where supplementing the diet with vitamins and minerals is needed.
If you think a vitamin supplement may help, one of the first vitamins to look into adding via a supplement is the B Vitamins.
This particular group of vitamins is one of the main ones responsible for healthy hair and for promoting hair growth.
In particular B7, also known as Biotin, is very important to the proper growth of cells and hair.
While this vitamin naturally occurs in eggs, whole grains, meat and milk, supplements are also easy to find.
Vitamin C is also recommended as a good vitamin to include in your diet when combating hair loss.
It is also very easy to find a supplement that includes this.
Vitamin E and Vitamin A are also supposedly very helpful in maintaining hair growth.
You do have to be careful when taking Vitamin A as it is one vitamin that is dangerous if taken in excess, and unlike the water soluble vitamins B and C, it stays in your body.
It is best if you can get sufficient Vitamin A from foods, such as eating green vegetables, but if you can't get enough that way try taking cod liver oil tablets, according to instructions on the bottle.
