Emphasize skills such as communication, patience and other medical- related experience to show you are qualified to be a school nurse. If you are not proficient in creating a resume, visit your local Department of Labor for assistance.
- 4). Contact schools in your area that you are interested in working for to see if they are in need of a school nurse.
- 5). Utilize online educational job search engines to apply for school nurse positions. For example, TopUSAJobs.com allows you to search specifically for school nursing jobs by state and within a certain distance from your home. Apply online when you find the school of your choice.
- 6). Determine if there are any school nurse associations in your area where you can meet, network and possibly find a position. For example, California has a School Nurses Organization that offers employment opportunities and resources to network with other school nurses.
