How to Apply Grout Stain

    • 1). Select your color of grout stain. You will want to match the color of your existing tile to the grout stain. Grout stains will come in a large range of colors: whites, tans, blues and greens.

    • 2). Purchase your grout stain. Super Tek makes an affordable grout stain that comes in a large array of colors. You can buy the grout stain directly from the Super Tek website.

    • 3). Clean your existing tile and grout joints with a grout cleaning solution. Mop with the grout cleaner and then use a scrub brush to get rid of buildup debris on the tile and joints. Rinse away the cleaner and wait until it dries completely before application.

    • 4). Apply the grout stain generously to the joints with a 2-inch paintbrush. You can get the stain on the tile without worrying about damage. Complete the entire area and then wait for the first coat of grout stain to dry. After about half an hour, use the paintbrush to paint on the second coat of grout stain.

    • 5). Wait for the second coat of grout stain to dry. Then soak the entire tiled area with hot water. Scrub at the tiles to remove any grout stain that you have applied to the surface. You will then use a mop to get rid of the residual mess. After the floor has dried, you will see the completed look of the tile with the new grout stain.
