How to Solve Joint Forces in SolidWorks Motion

    • 1). Click on the "Motion Manager" button, select "Type of study" and choose "Joint forces."

    • 2). Place markers on the timeline bar indicating the temporal bounds of the simulation.

    • 3). Click on the "Force" button in the "Property Manager."

    • 4). Set your force data points, which are a function of cycle angle, motion direction, magnitude or time. You can also define the motion parameters mathematically if you are working with an operable equation.

    • 5). Choose whether your project involves "friction forces," "contact forces" or both.

    • 6). Highlight the "X," "Y" and "Z" axes on which on the prototype will act.

    • 7). Select "Plot Results" to view the simulation results.
