The Bottom Line
If you're breastfeeding and you need a friend in the middle of the night, this is the book for you. Silverman covers all aspects of nursing your baby in a fun and friendly way. I give this book out to all of my prenatal breastfeeding classes and I have had excellent feedback from the moms about how realistic it is once their babies are born. I highly recommend Mama Knows Breast to every first, second, third (and beyond!) time parent who plans to breastfeed.

Guide Review - Book Review - Mama Knows Breast by Andi Silverman
Finally! A realistic and down-to-earth, non-dogmatic breastfeeding book hits the stands. Written by journalist and mom, Andi Silverman, Mama Knows Breast gives you the real "goods" on breastfeeding. Well-written and easy-to-read, this guide covers all breastfeeding bases with flair and fun. Is Silverman a lactation consultant? No. But, aside from having worked on the book with an excellent slate of resources such as pediatricians, OB's and lactation consultants, she is also a mom of two (18 months apart) who was an ardent breastfeeder.
It must also be mentioned that a fantastic supplement to this book is her blog, www.mamaknowsbreast.com. Check it out for the latest updates in the breastfeeding world!
