Online Poker, sounds simple. Sit at your computer and click a bunch of buttons. Anyone that has downloaded a online poker software knows the high of watching it finish and the excitement when it finally loads. Its very easy, enter your name, address and payment information and you are ready to play online poker for real cash.

It starts out innocent enough, as you play in small games and dollar tournaments. To only realize you blew through $100 in matter of hours.
Now you have a choice, reload your poker account with more money and chase the high or close the computer down. Those that have the power to close the game and go to sleep, I envy you.
For those of us that do not understand that clicking that reload button has just sent us on a path of destruction that will in time lead to a Online Poker Addiction.

Now I know it is a hard thing to face, looking yourself in the mirror after loosing hundreds or thousands of dollars in a day or a week. It seems so normally, every one is doing it. You know the b.s you feed yourself to justify what you are doing and why you continue.

This is the addiction that is silent and deadly. With in time you will find ways to gamble offline to cover your losses or as we call it, chasing the payout.

If any of the above sounds familiar that is ok. Your not alone and I want to share with you a few things I have done to over come the desire to keep gambling. Every one is different and there will power to stop varies. We have to understand that gambling addictions have no favorite type to target, it is a disease. It is treatable, with the right treatments and friends. You need to know that you have a issue and you need help.
That my friend is the start to getting your life back and on to recovery.

If you are a family member and you suspect some one close to you has a gambling addiction, you need to understand how to approach them to insist they get the help they so dearly need. Yelling is not the answer, I know that personally and all it did is enrage me to want to EARN back my losses. To show them I don't have a problem, I was just unlucky. Taking the matter to them in a calm manner and show them proof of what they are doing will get give them a reality check faster then a knock down screaming fight.
