- 1). Plan an order of events for the retreat. If your retreat's focus is on helping single women remain hopeful about life, use the first day to focus on how single women can understand the Bible better through the help of the Holy Spirit. For the second day of the retreat, invite speakers to talk with the women about serving God with their talents and spiritual gifts God gave them. Use the last day for fun activities that will allow attendants to solidify friendships.
- 2). Get input from your pastor and church members. Hold a meeting with them after the worship service and present your plan for the retreat. Let them state their disagreement with certain aspects of your plan and give new suggestions on how the retreat can be more effective. Write down their ideas and find ways to use some of them in planning the retreat.
- 3). Contact potential guest speakers and musicians. If some members recommend a few speakers because they fit with the goal of your retreat, listen to some of their teaching before asking them if they would be interested in speaking at your retreat. Or if some local Christian musicians are favorites with the women in your church, contact these groups and inquire about possible performances at the retreat.
- 4). Solicit volunteers. Find out what each person's skills and interests are and assign her tasks based on the many jobs that must be completed before and during the retreat. Take time to carefully explain to each volunteer what her duties are.
