Coleman Sundome 4-Person Tent Review

The Coleman Sundome 4-person tent is a popular choice among many for camping trips throughout the seasons. Not only is it extremely waterproof, but the Insta-Clip attachments mean it is also excellent for withstanding harsh winds, making it a very safe choice for all journeys.

Despite the manufacturer's recommendation that the tent can comfortably fit four people, the majority of customers have disagreed, saying it is much more suitable for only two to three people by the time the equipment has been packed away. It can, however, fit a Queen Airbed inside quite comfortably, with room left over for belongings.

Similarly, despite giving the tent overall positive reviews, many customers have commented that they have had some slight issues with the zipper, and that it can often feel as if it is straining against the material. For this reason, it is recommended that it is handled with care, and is not recommended for 'heavy duty' campers. It is, however, very light, weighing a mere 3 pounds, so may be useful when backpacking or hitch-hiking for short periods. The rainfly can also be removed, making this tent an excellent choice if you're an avid stargazer. What could be more perfect? And even if it's not quite the right weather for stargazing, you need not worry, as the tent is excellently ventilated, and there will be no problems getting to sleep. But, of course, the electrical access port means you can bring a fan, a phone, an iPod, or even a DVD player along with you in case you find yourself lying awake.

On the contrary, some customers have encountered problems in cold weather - the window is made of an open mesh material, allowing a slight breeze to creep through. This isn't a problem in the summer, of course-actually, it's probably quite welcome-but if you're planning on travelling to a colder climate, you may want to reconsider whether this is the right tent for you.

One of the major pros of this dome tent is definitely the setup process, which can be done in as little as fifteen minutes. And once this is done, there are very few ropes and cables left for you to trip over, meaning you can rest assured when you have to make that dreaded trip to the toilet in the middle of the night.

For the price, it's clear this tent is definitely an excellent choice. As you'd expect from Coleman, it's sturdy, reliable home away from home, and as long as you're not planning to live in it for extended periods of time, it's definitely an excellent buy.
