If You Are a Small Business Don"t Be Small Minded

Donald Trump likes to state that he THINKS BIG.
Unfortunately too many small business owners think small.
They fall into the trap of being small minded instead of really learning to think big for themselves and their own business.
Be careful of this because the way you think determines the way you act and the way you act will determine how successful your business will be.
What do I mean? Remember what Henry Ford said.
"Whether you think you can or you can't; you are right.
" Obviously what Henry meant was the greater your vision the more likely you are to achieve it and it needs to be the same with you and I.
We have to have big visions for our business and for our own lives.
The more grand our vision for growth and expansion the more likely we are to achieve it.
Let me suggest five ways to help you help you think big about your business.
  1. Every business is global.
    If you are running a business and you don't have a website you are throwing money out the door.
    Every website has a potential worldwide audience.
    Now I know you have to promote the website and market it but the very fact that it exists means that people around the world can access your business and buy from you.
    You must begin to think global no matter what you are selling.
  2. Every big business starts off small and the Bible tells us not to despise the day of small beginnings.
    Every flower and tree starts as a seed so too will your business.
    But if you already see the oak tree in your mind then your seed has a much greater chance of succeeding.
  3. Learn, learn, learn.
    You must become a voracious reader and learner if you want to learn to think big.
    Get as many books, CD programs, DVDs, and magazines as you can from your local library that will help you learn all that you can about your industry.
    The more you know the better equipped you are to move ahead of the competition and that is the name of the game.
    Always strive to be a few steps ahead of your competitors.
    You would be amazed at how many business owners are content to slide by with the bare minimum of effort.
    You can be the exception and be a learner and a student of life and your industry.
    It will be pay great dividends over the years.
  4. Cooperate.
    Learn to have partners, whether business partners or affiliate partners it doesn't matter.
    What does matter is the need to expand your market.
    There are hundreds of business entities you can partner with.
    In my seminars I discuss how to do this.
  5. Never give up.
    Hard knocks are part of life and part of business but you must not give up on your vision.
    Look at setbacks as opportunities to learn and grow and make sure you learn from them.
    Don't waste that experience by not gleaming all the nuggets that life throws at you.
