Identifying the First Sign of Herpes

Herpes is a common disease infecting over forty million Americans aged twelve and older.
The virus can be transmitted in a number of ways but the most typical of which is through physical contact of an infected body part of another individual who has the virus.
Interestingly, while there are millions of people that has the virus in their bodies, many of them are unaware that they are even infected.
This is mainly because the virus can cause varied symptoms and there are cases where in it doesn't physically manifest itself.
It's important to note, however, that while the herpes virus may not provide physical symptoms of infection, it is still just as potent as when it causes cold sores and other conditions.
Being on the lookout for the first sign of herpes is important in getting treatment.
There is no total cure for the virus as yet but if you manage to detect the signs of an outbreak, you have a higher chance of experiencing minimal discomfort especially during the first time that you get infected with it.
When symptoms occur during the first outbreak, you can expect them to be quite pronounced.
The condition can also last longer on the first time.
A first sign of herpes that you should look out for are small blisters or ulcers on the skin.
These are round areas of broken skin on the infected part.
The blisters are usually grouped together and eventually, the ulcers become very tender and quite painful.
You may also experience genital discharge and painful urination during the first outbreak.
During recurrent attacks, the first sign of herpes that you need to look out for are, again, the appearance of blisters on the area that was previously infected by the virus.
You have to be on the lookout for these ulcers because this is a period when you can be more contagious than ever.
