How to Know Your Glasses Size

    • 1). Determine your general size by measuring the width of your head at eye level. You will need glasses that have a width size, including the end pieces, that match up closely to your own face's width size.

    • 2). Take the bridge measurement for the glasses you're trying on. This measurement runs from the two inner corners of the lenses.

    • 3). Measure the eye size of the glasses. The eye size is the complete width of one lens, which runs horizontally across the lens from one side to the other at the widest part.

    • 4). Find out the B measurement by measuring the height of the lenses, which is the vertical measurement at the longest point.

    • 5). Get a temple length measurement. This runs the arm of the frame, and the complete measurement includes any bends.

    • 6). Combine the results into one measurement. Much like pants, which need both a waist and a length measurement to get the perfect fit, glasses are a combination of the eye, the bridge and the temple measurements. For example, you might have a 40-18-140 size. The B measurement gets included at the end if your glasses are multiform. Also, your size may vary, based on the style of the frame you want and the size of the end pieces.

    • 7). Put the glasses on. If these glasses feel right on your face and are comfortable, then this size works for you. Multiple frame sizes will likely fit your face, so try on a few before deciding.
