You want to more than anything at that point capture your reader's interest and get them to keep reading. That is what you are writing for. You must catch their attention right away, like in the first seconds and know how to talk to them in a way that piques their interest.
Many people seem to be natural writers, but most are not. Most need some way to get their creative juices flowing so that what they write will be read. Many writers get into what is called a block; they simply sit and stare at the screen or paper like they have nothing to say. It makes these people crazy when it happens.
When your creative juices are flowing and you are writing well, you create a picture in the reader's mind. A clean and crisp description requires a certain flare and to keep it almost conversational is another tough part about the process. You can use similes and metaphors to help you along, to make the article flow from beginning to end. Of course some people simply write by formula.
So you are the kind that gets the dreaded block of ideas. What can you do to get something down on paper that is good when you have nothing to say? Nothing works for everyone and there are no surefire ways, but there are things you can do to get your creative juices flowing. Don't let anyone tell you that there is only this or that way to do it either. There are no guarantees, but there are methods that you can use to get your creative juices flowing. The following are five ways that might help.
1-The first method is to relax. Sounds simply but many get harried when they think they need to spit out so much work and do this and do that. So clear your mind, a jumbled mind has little room to get your creative juices flowing. Make sure the distractions are put on hold while you are writing. Get rid of anything that may be hindering your creativity. If you are bothered by the phone and the kids and anything else that can pull your attention, stop them. It is very difficult to focus an unfocused mind.
2-The second method is to keep a journal. Carry it with you always and jot down anything that might capture your attention or thoughts. It could be something you see, hear, touch or feel. Your senses can be an enormous help to getting your creative juices flowing. Anything even something small at the time may nudge you into creative action if you see it later in writing. You can write others thoughts and ideas that you liked and could be used to stimulate thought. It is not stealing when the development of the idea is yours. Ideas can come from anywhere the way you develop the idea is what will make it unique.
3-Be sure to put your emotions to good use when writing. No one knows you better than you and if you can harness, anger, pain, happiness, joy then you have a great start to writing a well written article. Use the things that inspire you and those things that make you tick or tick you off. These emotions will help you to express yourself in your ideas and with that you can easily get your creative juices flowing.
4-An easy way to aid in your need to get your creative juices flowing is to create a working place that inspires you to be creative. Now how simply is that? If you don't feel calm and in control in your work space then it is time to change things around. Getting your creative juices flowing does not happen in a cluttered disorganized work space, at least not for most people.
5-You should put in your work space things that make you content or happy, Pictures of your family that you might be working so hard to support. Use scents in air fresheners or candles that settle your heart and mind. It can be anything weird or strange that might just be the trigger to get your creative juices flowing. Only you can know what will work for you. It is however known that phones, and interruptions and having to start and stop frequently are not helpful to getting your creative juices flowing again. Surround your working place with objects that makes you happy and relaxed.
6-Besides clearing the work place, you can also set the mood. Again the mood has to come from you, I can not tell you what will work for you. Some people can not work in the quiet and need the background of the television on or the radio. Others may need a sip of alcohol or a big old sandwich. Find what works for you and use it.
7-The final thought on ways to get your creative juices flowing is to get away. Don't just sit there and do nothing, get up and take a walk, go swimming, or to a movie. Do something to quiet the strain you feel you are under that is keeping you from writing. Do whatever it is that you need to do to get your creative juices flowing and in no time at all you will be writing great articles that people will want to read.
