I'm guessing you have been suffering from strange noises in your ears?
To some, the sounds come in the form of ringing, to others they can be buzzing, popping or even the sounds of crickets chirping.
Sound familiar? Don't panic, no you are not losing your mind and yes you have probably been losing sleep. What I have described above is a condition known as tinnitus.
Without a lengthy explanation, tinnitus comes about when the fine inner ear hairs are damaged or flattened.
Inner ear hairs usually stand straight up, vibrating from all the sounds around us.
They then turn these vibrations into electrical signals the brain translates as noise and sound but once they have been damaged. They continually send signals to the brain, which keeps telling us we are hearing something, even when we are not.
This is inner ear damage or tinnitus.
Usually only a condition among older people, tinnitus is also capable of claiming much younger victims. Sometimes industrial noise damage is responsible. Sometimes an accident, an ear infection or even just stress.
What is important, is not to fear it as something much worse. As mentioned earlier, tinnitus or ringing ears, is a well known problem but help is at hand.
What can I do to help my ringing ears?
There are numerous ways to go about curing ringing ears. Some are costly, some are temporary solutions and some are no help at all.
Before you decide on any plan of action, you owe it to your self to find out the facts behind the treatment people have been turning to for tinnitus.
