Pregnancy is a miracle! However, the nausea that comes along with it is not.
If you are reading this, more than likely you already know how morning sickness can feel.
The icky nausea and vomiting have you running to the bathroom every time you receive the slightest smell of food.
Morning sickness is normally at its peak during the first trimester.
This is normally the time when you just heard the news that you are pregnant and want to tell the world! But, your body is going through so many changes at this point in time that you can't seem to feel well enough to enjoy the experience.
I am here to help! I want you to relax and enjoy caring for your baby during the entire journey.
Because of that, I want to give you 5 simple tips that will help ease the nausea and vomiting: Eat 6 meals a day During pregnancy, digestion slows down and stomach acid increases.
Eating small amounts of food frequently gives stomach acid something to do (break down the food) instead of making you nauseous.
Keep crackers with you at all times Like I said above, stomach acid increases during pregnancy.
When you sleep, it has been 8 hours or more since you have eaten anything.
It's a great idea to keep crackers at the bed side table so you can nibble on them as soon as you wake up.
Eating a few crackers as a snack is also a good idea during the rest of the day.
Ginger and Peppermint Ginger is the wonder herb when it comes to nausea.
It calms and relaxes the stomach to get rid of the nausea.
Also, peppermint is excellent for digestion.
Drinking ginger or peppermint tea, or chewing peppermint gum can help with morning sickness.
Take vitamins at night Your doctor might tell you to take your prenatal vitamins in the morning.
However, if this tends to make you nauseous, ask your doctor if you can take them at night (with a high protein snack).
Taking them at night may help you to actually keep your vitamins down, instead of them ending up in the toilet.
Acupressure Acupressure is an ancient technique that involves tapping on certain areas of the body to relive stress, pain, nausea, etc.
This method has been use for centuries.
Doctors do not advise giving pregnant women medication, so that makes treating pain and sickness a very difficult task.
However, acupressure does NOT involve any medication.
It is NOT painful and it will NOT harm you or the baby.
It can be done in just minutes and the effects of morning sickness will be gone.
