Are you thinking about buying some indoor grow lamps but do not know which ones to buy? Are you wanting to get the best deal for your money while at the same time get the best type of grow light that will produce high yields for your crops? Are you stuck between HID grow lamps and LED grow lamps because both of them are seemingly idea and don't know which one to pick? If the answer to any of these questions is yes then you are in the right place because today we are going to be going over the differences between HID grow lights and LED lights.
The first type of grow lamp that we are going to be talking about is the LED grow light.
These lights are great if you are setting up a small indoor garden, because they draw only a quarter of the power that is needed for other types of grow lights.
These lights also really good for using if you are trying to get lights for that cover the whole grow spectrum.
LEDs cover the whole growth spectrum from the blue side to the red and red side.
This is crucial because the blues cover the rooting and growing phases and the reds and yellows cover the flowering and crop end.
The LED light is the one that you are going to want to use if you are a first time grower.
The next light fixture that we are going to be talking about is the HID or high intensity discharge lamps.
There are two main categories of HID lights, the metal halide category and the high-powered sodium category.
Metal halides create a bluish green light, which is great for plants that are starting out, while the high-powered sodium lights create a yellowish orange hue that is great for the flowering or harvest portion of the plants life.
These types of grow lamps are for the advanced grower who has a large setup that he tends to daily.
