Southampton is one of three cruise ports in the vicinity of London, along with Dover and Tower Bridge. Southampton is the busiest cruise port in the United Kingdom, often with several ships a day making stops. The port is also the departure port for a range of cruise opportunities aboard some brand new cruise ships. - Southampton is the home port for the Cunard fleet of cruise ships: the Queen Mary 2, the Queen Elizabeth and the Queen Victoria. From Southampton, Cunard sends the ships out on British Islands, Baltic Sea, Mediterranean, transatlantic and world cruises. The Queen's are luxury liners that carry about 2,500 passengers and all are fairly new. The Queen Mary 2 started sailing in 2004, the Queen Victoria is early 2008 and the new Queen Elizabeth in the fall of 2010.
