Summer is peach season in South Carolina.
The state is number two in the country for peach production, and the leading peach producer in the Southeast.
There are a number of peach growers in the Upstate region that sell directly to the public.
Here are some popular places to find those delicious farm fresh peaches.
Abbott Farms, a family run business, has been selling handpicked, tree-ripened peaches in the Upstate for more than 50 years.
They also sell watermelons, cantaloupes, peanuts, jams, salsa, and fruit cider.
There are six convenient locations around the region.
The Spartanburg location is off I-26 at Exit 22.
There are two locations in Cowpens, off I-85 at Exit 83 Northbound and Southbound.
The Gaffney store is located at I-85 at Exit 92, and the Boiling Springs store is at I-85 at Exit 75.
The newest location is in Florence, South Carolina at I-95 at Exit 157.
Summer hours are Monday-Saturday from 7am-8pm.
Perdeaux Fruit Farm sells peaches, nectarines, plums, apples, blackberries, and raspberries.
They also carry a selection of locally grown vegetables, preserves, honey, apple butter, and cider.
The retail location is north of Greenville at 2400 Hwy 11 in Traveler's Rest.
Hours are Wednesday-Saturday from 10am-5:30pm and Sunday from 12:30-6pm.
Strawberry USA is a family run farm located at 3097 Hwy 11 in Chesnee.
There is also a retail location off I-85 at Exit 90 in Gaffney.
They offer handpicked strawberries in the spring and peaches and blackberries in the summer.
Breads, salsa, honey, preserves, and fruit cider are also available.
The onsite café serves breakfast and lunch.
Each location also has an ice cream parlor.
Hours are 8am-8pm daily.
The Peach Tree Orchards, located at 2077 Filbert Hwy in York, sells 25 varieties of peaches from June-September.
Buyers may purchase fruit from their roadside store or pick their own yellow or white freestone peaches.
Jams, jellies, and salsa are also available.
The ice cream parlor serves sundaes, floats, and shakes.
Hours are Monday-Saturday from 8am-6pm and Sunday from 1-6pm.
Spring Farm Peach Stand is located at 1325 Hwy 160W in Fort Mill, South Carolina.
Their smaller Farm Market location is about three miles away on Springfield Pkwy.
They sell peaches, nectarines, strawberries, and blackberries in season.
They also carry other locally grown produce, honey, barbecue sauce, and dressings.
Shoppers can enjoy a snack from the onsite restaurant, bakery, or ice cream parlor.
Hours are Monday-Friday from 6am-9pm, Saturday from 8am-9pm, and Sunday from 8am-8pm.
