- 1). Apply a lime removal solution, such as CLR, to lime deposits with a sponge. Soak them completely.
- 2). Begin sanding the lime deposit with your 200 grit sandpaper. Don't sand hard: just enough to score the surface, and then stop.
- 3). Apply another saturating dose of CLR with your sponge. Begin lightly sanding, but again, only to loosen and score the surface. Let the CLR do all the work.
- 4). When the lime deposit has been cleaned off, rinse the area with water.
- 1). Mix 1/2 cup of vinegar with 1 cup of hot water. Mix completely.
- 2). Sponge this mixture onto the fiberglass lime deposit and allow it to soak for a couple of minutes.
- 3). Gently sand the surface with your soft steel wool. Fiberglass scratches and will etch if you use an acidic content that is too high, so always dilute the vinegar and sand gently to score and loosen the lime.
- 4). Repeat this process. It may take several cycles of sponging and sanding before the lime deposit has been removed.
