I like authority. I don't like weakness and wimpiness...

I hadn't noticed! really, I think everybody does. I mean, nobody wants to be under something all the time and feel like they're always the bottom of everything. So we've been talking about how important it is to know our position in christ as a believer. Explain real briefly what we mean by that so in case people don't understand that term, they'll get it.

<a target="_new" rel="nofollow" tells us who we are in christ is incredibly important to understand. Right from the beginning god said, "let us make man in our image." so god rules in the entire universe, and that's part of the image of god in our life. It's not that we are to rule over one another; it's ruling in our world, ruling in our circumstances. Psalm 8:6 says, "you have given man dominion over the works of your hands." so there is this dominion factor that god has put in our life that all of us ache to have.

But so often, I mean, even though we were given dominion over the plants -- and in so many people's lives right now plants rule over them, with alcoholism, cocaine, drug addictions, all these kinds of things -- so now we're meant to be in control of our lives. We're meant to be in control of our emotions, in control of our minds. But so often our emotions are dragging us up, dragging us down, our minds are going here, there, everywhere.

And god has said, "I want you to have personal government in your own world, in your own life." I think that he teaches us sometimes through trials, Joyce Meyer.

Those disciples were on the boat and they're going up and down and they're at their wit's end. And jesus is asleep. They're going, "god! What are you doing asleep?" so, they go and wake him up and say, "please!" this is their statement: don't you care? You see, when you don't rise in faith, we start to doubt that god loves us because we want him to do everything for our lives.

But he goes to sleep so that we will wake up. And if we are still sleeping on our authority, we're going like: "who am i? I don't even really know who I am. I'm trying to find my identity in christ." he will let us go into a storm so that we can stand on the bow of that boat, and instead of getting him to wake up, calling all the intercessors together and saying, "we've got to get answers for prayer," he says, "why don't you just speak to your problem? Why don't you just rule in life -- speak to that mountain." in fact, that word in mark 11, verse 23, where it says, "pray and you'll receive, and speak and say it," the word "say" is there three times, and the word "pray" is only there twice. So speaking into our world is incredibly important.
