Natural Cures for Baldness

    Vitamin A

    • Vitamin A gives you important doses of sebum, which is an important lubricant for your hair follicles. Without enough sebum, you can have dry hair, dandruff and a thick scalp. However, if you get too much vitamin A, it can cause even more hair loss. There are foods in which you can get enough vitamin A to produce sebum to treat baldness. These include mangoes, oranges, carrots, sweet potatoes and squash.

    Vitamin B

    • Vitamin B helps produce hemoglobin, which helps the scalp gain the oxygen it needs to grow healthy hair. The vitamin B a person suffering from baldness should focus on is vitamin B6 and folic acid. Vitamin B6 is found in protein-rich foods. Both vitamin B6 and protein are needed to prevent hair loss. Potatoes, cereals, bananas, beans, chicken, oatmeal, pork loin and roast beef all have vitamin B6 in them. You can get the folic acid you need by eating cooked lentils, collard greens, chickpeas, medium papaya, frozen peas and boiled asparagus.

    Vitamin E

    • Vitamin E is good for the scalp because it increases the absorption of oxygen and provides good blood circulation to the scalp. If you have the inability to absorb oils and fats, then you have a vitamin E deficiency. You can take vitamin E in supplement form and eat foods that are rich in it. These foods include cereals, almonds, safflower oil, corn oil, soybean oil and turnip greens.

    Vitamin C

    • We need collagen for healthy and strong hair. Vitamin C is responsible for producing the collagen we need. Vitamin C is in kiwi fruit, guava, sweet red peppers and oranges.

    Iodine

    • Iodine is very important for healthy hair. You don't want the iodine in table salt because it can cause you to overdose on iodine, and that can cause more hair loss. You want iodine in food or supplement form. You can find iodine in foods such as kelp, low-fat yogurt, boiled eggs, strawberries, mozzarella cheese and cow's milk.
