Just how do you go about starting a blog? Is there a sure recipe for how to blog successfully? Take time out for a little introspection and motivation.
At first glance-and maybe even the second and third glances-the web can come across as a bottomless pit.
It is, but you can find your niche if you are determined enough, if you have "the millionaire mindset" and if you have the right goals.
There's bad news and there's good news.
The bad is: you get heat from a million competitors in just about any niche you get into.
The good is: more or less nine hundred ninety-nine thousand of them mostly haven't sorted out their USB ports from their navels.
Of the rest, a very few have hit the big time, some are doing fine, many are getting along and the vast majority are both floundering and foundering.
The tragedy is, there is no lack of niches with abundant readership scope or commercial potential.
It is the blogger's techniques that make or break him.
The online universe is like the offline universe: vast and expanding, but if you choose your niche wisely and develop it diligently, you can leave your competition behind.
There are enough goodies in most niches to keep everyone happy, no matter how many everyones try to get a slice of the action.
Veterans rarely bother about the size of the competition they face.
They move mysteriously their miracles to perform.
As a novice, though, you are no Harry Potter.
You haven't got a magic wand to keep away the result-that-cannot-be-named (I mean failure).
You will make a few gaffes and swallow some snake oil before, during and after you set about starting a blog.
You can easily deal with it: shrug it off and just put it down to non-lethal occupational hazard.
You just need the right motivation, the right "mindset"-please pardon my using this much-maligned term.
You just need to apply yourself to the proper goals.
Henry Ford had this to say: "There's 2 kinds of people in this world-those that think they can and those that think they can't-they're both right.
" Now there's something you want to think about.
You will prove yourself right if you think you can't: you won't.
You will prove yourself right if you think you can: you will.
Belief in yourself is one of the primary requirements as you set out to discover how to blog successfully.
I have struggled for a long time to develop the habit of setting goals and actually making some effort to achieve them.
I am still rather scratchy, and am quite some distance from either the first million or the ideal millionaire mindset.
It has been a hard struggle, but I think I am winning.
I have this to say as an aside: be adaptible in the means you use to reach your ends.
Practices and technologies morph in the wink of an eye nowadays, and if something comes up that can help you achieve easier, quicker, cheaper: well, why not? What really is the significance of the millionaire mindset? Go here to continue with the pep talk.
